Dulux Colour of the year 2022 - Bright Skies

Dulux have given us a colour of the year for quite some time now, and every year the colour has been carefully chosen by experts from around the world to reflect on the past year and the predicted future.

The panellists discuss global events, how it has affected everyone, what may happen in the next 12 months and future trends. The conversation can get emotional, and that’s no surprise especially over the past couple of years that we have had, everyone has their own story and yet were all in the same boat.

Last year, the Colour of the Year for 2021 was Brave Ground; it represented stability and growth and the theme of change and potential. Due to several lockdowns and restrictions, there have been massive changes in the world.

Brave Ground was a colour that connected us back down to nature.

However, with this year’s colour we are looking up!

Bright Skies is a fresh and uplifting shade of blue that Dulux says is “open and good for the soul”. We are still connected to nature with this colour; it feels natural and is a true reflection of the sky above. The possibilities with this colour are endless.

It gives a soothing atmosphere, and any room painted with Bright Skies provides an escape from the stresses of our everyday lives, our own little heaven.

Dulux believe there is space for Bright Skies in everyone’s lives, at work or home and in a multitude of sectors, education, offices, residential, healthcare and hospitality.

To help us find the best way to use Bright Skies, Dulux have come out with four colour palettes to suit everyone’s taste!
