Workspace

With much of the country still working from home and the price of energy creeping up by the day, we’re going use Red Ochre to bring the heat home in the form of this deep and beautiful colour!

Dulux Heritage's Red Ochre is a deep, earthy red that draws inspiration from Mars red, a colour with great historical significance. Used by artists since the 17th Century, it was originally created simply by allowing iron to oxidise into rust. Today this colour retains its natural quality and feeling of substance.

In addition to bringing in a feeling of warmth, painting your workspace red is known to help increase the heart rate and increase blood flow, thus creating a sense of urgency and a surge in energy... Giving you no excuse for missing a deadline!

Hallway

Creating an aesthetic hallway is the perfect way to welcome people into your home and green is an excellent colour to do that.

Dulux Heritage in Stone Green is a mid, grey/green that has a natural connection to materials such as granite and marble with its muted tones reflected in their flecks and seams of colour. This is a very sophisticated and versatile coloured neutral.

Whilst Stone Green is a little more muted, green in general can be a little overwhelming. As you can see here, the green has been used in contrast with white, helping to keep the space feel light, airy and calming.

If trying this yourself, remember to place the lighter colour on top to open up the space more.

Bedroom

Whilst the kitchen is the heart of the home, the bedroom is a close second!

Your bedroom is your sanctity after a long day, and it should be decorated to reflect that.

Shades of purple are better fantastic option for painting your bedroom because they’re both calming and light. By painting a room in the lighter shades of purple you’ll be creating a peaceful and tranquil mood.

Dulux Heritage’s Dusted Heather in velvet matt is a mid, muted purple inspired by the Victorian ladies love of mauve in the mid-19th century when the French president’s wife decided it was the pinnacle of fashion and all of London followed. Now in vogue again this is a modest and versatile shade brings the same restful quality to bedrooms as blue does, but without the risk of feeling cool.

Opting for a blue paint can stir a range of emotions and moods when used in your home. Navy blue paints can bring elegant sophistication, especially if you opt for Dulux Heritage’s Deep Ultramarine or DH Indigo. Whilst these are quite deep colours, you can tone them down with contrasting colour scheme with regards to accessories and flooring.
