The Norm
The go to colour for all offices is white.
It’s clean, it’s bright and makes all spaces seem spacious but in this case, white space is the enemy.
In a study from the University of Texas, researcher Nancy Kwallek tested the impact of colour, red, white and blue, to be precise, on productivity.
By giving three different groups of respondents clerical tasks to complete in different rooms, each painted one of the aforementioned colours.
Nancy’s research found that those working in the white room made more mistakes than those in the red and blue room, stating: “White doesn’t help us be productive, and most work environments are white, off-white, or grey.”
On what colour workspaces should be, Nancy said: “There have been studies that asked worker preference about environment and colour, and the majority felt they liked to work in a blue or blue-green environment.”
As it’s been proven by science, we’ve compiled a handful of green and blue hues that are versatile for both living and working spaces that will have your productivity and serotonin soaring!
