What colours are available?

The Earthborn Classic range is available in 72 colours in Claypaint, Lifestyle, Eco Chic and Eggshell No.17 finishes. In addition, there are 12 Modern Country Colours available in partnership with Country Homes & Interiors magazine.

Is Earthborn Clay paint washable?

Claypaint is not washable. Light marks can be wiped off the surface but heavy wiping or washing will remove the paint from the surface. For a washable paint, use Earthborn Lifestyle Emulsion.

Is Earthborn Clay paint breathable?

Earthborn Clay paint is a highly breathable clay based paint perfect for interior walls and ceilings.

Is Earthborn paint any good?

Earthborn is very good eco friendly paint, made of natural ingredients including various clays, chalk and kaolin. It covers the surface incredibly well and because it contains no artificial ingredients it can be applied over virtually any previously painted interior wall surface including lime plaster or render. One coat is often sufficient on previously painted surfaces although we would always recommend at least two. It is paint with EU Ecolabel credentials meaning it is of environmental excellence.

Where is Earthborn paint made?

Earthborn paint is based in Cheshire, the North of England and was established in 2002.

How long does Earthborn Claypaint take to dry?

Earthborn Claypaint typically takes 6 to 12 hours to dry in temperatures above 8 degrees C. It should not be applied in temperatures lower than this. In very warm environments it may dry quicker than 6 hours. When applying the paint the surface can appear very patchy until it is fully dry.

Can Earthborn Clay paint be used outside?

No. You cannot use Earthborn Claypaint outdside as it will wash off.  The correct paint for exterior use is Earthborn Silicate Masonry paint.

Does Earthborn Clay Paint smell?

Earthborn Clay paint is odour free. It contains no oils or acrylics and is particularly good for allergy and asthma sufferers.
