Barrettine White Spirit 750ml is an effective brush cleaner and solvent paint/varnish thinner. 

White Spirit is also suitable for general cleaning/degreasing around the house and can be used as a traditional paint thinner, much like Genuine Turps.

The petroleum based solvent is perfect for breaking down paints such as eggshell, gloss, varnishes and stains.

As an alternative, Barrattine also make White Spirit with Low Odour that might be more suited for inside the house.

Barrettine Brush Cleaner may also be a good alternative if the main priority is cleaning brushes.
